Zamir Walthour was spotted in a stolen Toyota Camry on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township late on Jan. 12, state police said in a release.

Walthour fled when Chester city police tried to pull him over and intentionally rammed one squad car during his escape, troopers wrote.

He pulled onto I-476 southbound from MacDade Boulevard and was driving down the shoulder when he struck 53-year-old motorcyclist Firoz Jahangir from behind, according to state police.

Jahangir, of Drexel Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chester police found Walthour's stolen Camry disabled on the I-95 northbound on-ramp and took him into custody, the release says. Police also claim he was under the influence of marijuana and cocaine at the time of the wreck.

He is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault, fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, and related offenses, according to troopers. Court records show Walthour's formal arraignment is scheduled for March 13.
